The CAPITA project is an official study into the effects of a vaccine against pneumococcus bacteria. Pneumococcus bacteria cause pneumonia and meningitis. It is a frequent cause of illness among the elderly. The vaccination vans enable the researchers to visit numerous locations in a short period. The very latest equipment ensures the vaccination vans have a continuous temperature control, etc. There are dozens of vaccination vans currently touring the Netherlands.
