Minister Cramer launches game of energy installation sector.

The game, developed on behalf of Uneto-VNI, aims at a clear, interactive way to discover the benefits of energy saving measures for houses. Calculations for energy savings, comfort, performance as well as finances are included in the game. The data used for this purpose was supplied by NL Agency (formerly Senter Novem). In the game participants discover in a simple way what the impact is of the specific energy saving measures that are available such as roof isolation or a better central heating installation. They will also discover how to upgrade their houses with as little investments as necessary to reach their target. While playing the game, the conversations about the topic will automatically start. "Very nice, says Cramer. "The discussion starts, you see what effective measurements do - even with a limited investment." "Moreover, it seems an appropriate method for a targeting local suburbs. "Would you not reduce costs enormously?", She wondered. Marcel Engels, president of Uneto-VNI, responded positively. "We have done this already together with housing corporations." Peter Schuthof, NL manager of Agency, thinks that the game provides the objectives. "What struck me was that Minister Cramer and Jan Terlouw immediately dived on the game and wanted to know what it does. This showed the beauty of the game: people stand together near the table and start to discuss with each other, and thereby it brings awareness. Playing all together is more important than winning, but if you don't play, we are all losers..."
